​​Building a theoretical framework for conducting an experiment

Planning stage of the research internship

  1. Agree with your internship supervisor on the meeting schedule.
  2. Plan for studying the subject of your research.
  3. Study research resources of NSTU Scientific library and popular among researchers platforms and catalogues.

Main stage of the research internship

  1. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of existing theories regarding the subject of your research.
  2. Put forward a hypothesis about the application of the proposed method / approach / technology /other (subject of your research) to improve FL teaching.
  3. Study traditional and up-to-date teaching experience contributing to the solution of the problems within the framework of the topic of your research.
  4. Analyze your own teaching experience of using various methods for solving pedagogical problems in accordance with the proposed hypothesis of your study.

Final stage of the research internship

  1. Write a part of your master thesis (15-20 pages) formatted according to the requirements of the Department of Foreign Languages (Humanities) and GOST R7.05-2008 ‘Bibliographic references’ on the subject of the research with in-text references and a reference list.
  2. Write a conference abstract OR a research article.

Internship outcomes

Participation in a research conference with a report on the interim results of your research and publishing it as a conference abstract OR Publishing a research article in a research journal.

Describing an experimental part conducted and analyzing its findings

Planning stage of the research internship

  1. Agree with your internship supervisor on the meeting schedule.
  2. Check if all the materials of the experimental part conducted are available.

Main stage of the research internship

  1. Describe the reasons for the choice of methods for analyzing the results of the experiment.
  2. Describe forms designed for experimental data collection.
  3. Interpret the data collected using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  4. Organize ONE event for Science Popularization among school children.

Final stage of the research internship

  1. Write a part of your master thesis (15-20 pages) formatted according to the requirements of the Department of Foreign Languages (Humanities) and GOST R7.05-2008 ‘Bibliographic references’ on the experimental part ​​​​​​ of the research with in-text references and a reference list.
  2. Write a conference abstract OR a research article.
  3. Make a report on participation in ONE event for Science Popularization among school children.

  2. Check if all your objectives are achieved, the research question(s) are answered and your research statement is responded.

  1. Achieve all the objectives of the research.
  2. Interpret the results achieved.
  3. Summarise the key findings and make conclusions.

Final stage of the research internship

  1. Edit your master thesis (75-90 pages) and format it according to the requirements of the Department of Foreign Languages (Humanities) and GOST R7.05-2008 ‘Bibliographic references’. PRINT OUT INTRODUCTION, CONCLUSIONS ON CHAPERTS and FINAL CONCLUSIONS (still drafts)
  2. Write a conference abstract OR a research article.
